KCC is responsible for publicly funded schools in the Kent Thames Gateway, and also for Lifelong Learning delivered by the Kent Adult Education Service. The Council also has an overview of the Thames Gateway through its Strategic Planning directorate.

GKA work closely with Kent County Council on a number of projects, including the Swale Learning Compact and Funding for vocational centres and schools.
