Kent College and G6 – the sixth forms of the Gillingham
Schools - have created this centre for construction trades
in Gillingham.
Mid Kent
College is a Centre of Vocational Excellence for electrical
installation, and this facility brings that expertise
to learners at schools in Gillingham, enabling them
to gain a grounding in a practical subject as part of
their sixth form study. Younger learners from the schools
are also able to come to the Centre to pick up some
practical skills before they reach sixteen. The Centre
is a great example of co operative work between a consortium
of local schools and a further education college.
